Next St. Catharines & Area Aquarium Society meeting is Monday Dec 3rd  at 7:30 PM, doors open at 6:30 PM
at Seafarers & Teamsters Union Hall
70 St. David Street East, Thorold

Our next presentation is:  Monday Dec. 3rd 2018 is our annual Christmas potluck, there will be no speakers in December just a time to get together. Doors open at 6 pm Dinner Served at 6:30pm. Please feel free to come out being your favourite dish or dessert to share and join us.

Hi Everyone,

We are looking at making club t-shirts and are opening up a contest for all members to submit their drawings or graphic art for the t-shirt design.

All submissions need to be in by October 1st please send them to  

Exec committee will vote on a design and then present to members so pre-orders can be made so you make sure you get shirts in proper size.

Pat’s Presidential Message

Welcome to you all, I hope you had an enjoyable summer. I can’t believe that it is already
September. The summer is still going strong with this heat wave
though. Those of you that have ponds probably enjoyed a good
season with plenty of lily’s blooming.
Frank Aguirre will return to our club as our September 10, 2018
program speaker. He will present a talk on Plecos the L
number. Frank’s talks are always very informative and well laid
September is also our Hirst meeting of the year so memberships
are due. Please see Tricia Fruck our membership chairperson to
The Hamilton Club is having their annual fall auction on September 15, 2018 in Waterdown. It is
one of the largest auctions and there are always a lot of good quality Hish and plants available at
these events. Please support them if you are able to attend.

Thanks from the kids at St. Catharines Child Care Centre where Tom Hillier has set up 5 tanks and fish donated by our club and from Big Al's Stoney creek.

We meet at the Seafarers and Teamsters Union at 70 St. David Street East in Thorold, Ontario.

Items that can be auctioned include aquatics (fish, snails, shrimp, etc...), aquatic plants, aquariums and aquarium supplies. 

    Please note that all plants and livestock must be healthy and all equipment must be in working order. 
  • If you would like to sell items, please be sure to arrive early in order to register and prepare your items. 
  • Sellers receive 70% of the auction profit while 30% will benefit the club.

Jar Show Information

Each meeting features a specific fish.  If you happen to have a healthy specimen in that category, please bring it for our jar show!  Winning entries receive a plaque and a ribbon each month.  The member with the most wins at the end of the year receives a trophy!  For more information about how to successfully show a fish, click here  

February Jar Show Data & January Results: For the February Jar Show, the feature category will be loaches and sharks. Every month is also open choice (this includes plants). Auction to follow.

The jar show categories for the balance of this season will be March (Swords, Platies, Mollies); April (Anabantids, including Gouramis and Bettas); May (Guppies); June (Corys and Catfish, including Plecos). Best of Luck!
