The great SCAAS SUMMER BARBEQUE was the 24th of July. We had a great time but we had to quickly move indoors to escape mother nature. Dave gave us all a tour of his fish and tanks. As usual his fish looked great and he has several rarer species breeding.
Who we are and what we do.
Hello and welcome to the St. Catharines and Area Aquarium Society. We are are a club. We get together and talk about Aquariums and what ever else long time friends will talk about as we are also a group of friends. We are an open minded and easy going group who look forward to meeting and talking about aquariums with anyone who comes to the meetings.
This site provides information to our members and to the curious public about our great aquarium club. We strive to provide information to members and the general public about events and history related to our club and the Aquarium hobby in general. We have a lot to offer anyone interested in aquariums. At our monthly meetings, we have guest speakers, mini-auctions (where you can buy or sell aquarium related items such as tanks, fishes and plants), reef systems, jar shows, raffles, refreshments and a great opportunity to ask aquarium questions.
Memberships are inexpensive and include a monthly newsletter "The SCAT", with articles by hobbyists, and information about upcoming events in our club and other clubs in Canada and the U.S.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT: The Society, established in 1958, is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the task of promoting interest in the breeding, raising, maintenance and study of tropical fish, both at the beginner and advanced levels.
WHERE TO FIND US
Meetings of the St. Catharines & Area Aquarium Society (S.C.A.A.S.) are held on the first Monday of each month, 7:30 p.m., at the Seafarers' Union and the Teamsters' Union on 70 St. Davids Rd East (see map on Monthly Meetings page) Thorold, Ont. On holidays, meetings are held on the second Monday. There are no meetings during the months of July and August.

The St. Catharines & Area Aquarium Society is a charter member of the Canadian Association of Aquarium Clubs Inc. (C.A.O.A.C.) www.caoac.ca and a member of the Federation of American Aquarium Societies www.faas.info
